"Grief work is her jam"

"Heather was my supervisor and I have enjoyed working with her tremendously. She has a huge amount of knowledge of anything relating to therapy - but grief work is her jam. She will equip you with skills but also encourage a lot of self reflection and always offers compassion with hard cases. In between supervision hours she makes a big effort to be available as much as possible for any questions or concerns and will always follow up with some extra content or feedback."

- Hannah Carlsrud, LMHCA

"Her belief in my potential has been deeply empowering."

"What stands out most about Heather is her genuine passion for helping people navigate the complexities of grief and loss. Her compassion and understanding allow me to show up as my authentic self, and her belief in my potential has been deeply empowering.

I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to learn from Heather and would highly recommend her as a supervisor to anyone seeking compassionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring mentorship."

- Ellen Benezra, LMHCA, Wellness Collective Therapy Group

Smarter Grief Training for Clinicians

Grief is one of the most complex and nuanced human experiences, yet traditional clinical training often doesn’t prepare us to hold space for it.

You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, unsure of how to guide your clients, or worried that you’re not offering enough support. The truth is, modern grief work requires more than just empathy, it requires the right tools, confidence, and a deep understanding of how grief shows up in the therapy space.

Dr. Heather Taylor is a renowned grief specialist and trusted clinician educator, known for equipping therapists with the tools and confidence to navigate even the most complex grief cases.

Hi, I'm Heather!

Unlike so many others, I didn’t come to this work through textbooks. I came to it through loss.

My younger brother died unexpectedly, and I found myself sitting in a therapist’s office, drowning in grief, desperate for someone to meet me in the mess.

Instead? I was told to watch an old VHS tape.

It was nothing short of outdated and impersonal.

More than that, it was completely disconnected from everything I was feeling.

That tape changed everything for me.

I went as far as going back to school. Yep.

I studied sitting bedside in hospice rooms, practiced mourning rituals across cultures, and devoted my work to one simple question:

What does it look like to truly sit with someone in their grief, without pathologizing or fixing it?

What I’ve learned is this: Grief doesn’t follow stages.

It doesn’t resolve on a timeline. It shows up in waves, in silence, in identity shifts, in things we lose that no one else sees.

And most of us, even as trained clinicians, were never taught what to do with that.

That’s why I created this space: To help you develop the language, presence, and confidence to support clients through the real, human experience of grief, not the outdated models.

Because grief isn’t something to “get over.”
It’s something we learn to live with.

And if you can meet someone there?

That’s where healing begins.

Why This Program Vs. Others Out There?

Feeling Overwhelmed

If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to respond when a client shares their grief, this program will equip you with the tools to feel prepared and grounded.

Lack of Practical Training

Most clinicians receive little to no formal training on grief. Our modern grief education fills that gap with practical, real-world knowledge.

Isolation in Grief Work

Doing grief work can feel isolating. This membership connects you with a community of clinicians who understand the challenges and nuances of grief.

Need for Practical Resources

Stop spending hours searching for grief resources. We’ll provide you with monthly tools and handouts that you can immediately use in your practice.

What other clinicians are saying:

"She makes grief feel approachable

& understandable"

"Dr. Taylor has a remarkable ability to make grief feel approachable and understandable. She has the ability to create a safe, compassionate space where myself and others were able to explore grief openly, regardless of the level of experience or comfort with the subject.

Dr. Taylor broke down complex concepts into clear, relatable insights, making it easier to understand and communicate about grief in both professional and personal settings. Over a year later, her teachings continue to resonate with me, empowering me to approach all forms of grief, both death-related and non-death-related, with greater confidence and sensitivity."

- Madeline Alexander, LMHCA, doctoral candidate

"I highly recommend her expertise"

"I first had the pleasure of working with Dr. Taylor when she taught one of my graduate courses. Her passion and expertise in working with grief were evident from the start. So when I encountered a complicated case involving grief, I knew she was the person I should seek consultation from. My consultation with her, provided invaluable guidance, offering both practical strategies and a compassionate space to process the challenges that were arising in my case. The consultation session left me feeling more confident and better equipped to support my client. I highly recommend her expertise to any clinician seeking thoughtful and insightful grief consultation."

- Lesley-Rose Gutter, LMHCA, doctoral candidate

"Beyond the rudimentary and outdated information obtained in graduate school"

"Dr. Taylor’s expertise is fueled by her passion and deep empathy for those touched by grief, as she provides up-to-date perspective and wisdom regarding a subject many turn away from.

Dr. Taylor offers tremendous insight into the treatment of grief, not as pathological, but as a part of being human. She uses her creativity to reach clients right where they are and assists fellow therapists with insightful consultation.

Working alongside Dr. Taylor has allowed me to further my understanding of the complexity of grief, beyond the rudimentary and outdated information obtained in graduate school."

-Dr. Carmen D. Lasby, PsyD, Psychologist

"Her nuanced, culturally sensitive approach enriches a clinician’s understanding"

"Dr. Heather Taylor is a highly skilled and deeply experienced clinician specializing in grief across diverse clinical and nonclinical settings. Her nuanced, culturally sensitive approach to clinical consultation enriches a clinician’s understanding of the grief experience while providing thoughtful, practical interventions to integrate into practice. I deeply appreciate Dr. Taylor’s warmth, humor, and relatability—grief work is profoundly meaningful yet can also be emotionally demanding. She brings invaluable insight into caring for the caregiver and trauma stewardship, essential for all practitioners. I highly recommend professional consultation with Dr. Taylor."

-Jen Reisinger, MA, LMHC, PMH-C
